About Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty surgery overview

Rhinoplasty surgery may be performed for a number of reasons. It may be considered cosmetic surgery (for aesthetic reasons), or functional surgery (medical reasons), or a combination of these considerations. Rhinoplasty is routinely performed for both male and female patients. While it is important to consider that all surgeries carry risk – typically rhinoplasty is relatively low risk. Dr Dan Robinson has performed over 700 rhinoplasties and the adverse outcome when he performs the surgery is very low. When Dr Dan audited his results he found that over 97% of patients had an improvement in the breathing through their nose and 98% were happy with the cosmetic outcome. Dr Dan has a minor revision rate of 2.4% of the patients he operates on and has not had a major revision.

Nose Plastic Surgery on the Gold Coast

Dr Dan Robinson performs rhinoplasty surgery that is individually tailored. Each person has a unique nose and face, which must be evaluated and treated individually. Often referred to as a nose job, this surgery is often misunderstood as being purely cosmetic in nature – however it is regularly performed for purely medical reasons.

Men and women present to Gold Coast Rhinoplasty for a range of (equally valid) reasons.

Men often require surgery for the nose, due to it being previously broken or other trauma leading to an inability to breathe. Furthermore, more men are also becoming aware of the cosmetic benefits of Rhinoplasty. Men who are unhappy with the shape and size of their nose can achieve a more desirable look through surgical treatment with Dr Dan.

Females often require surgery on their nose to improve both the function and the cosmesis of their nose. Dr Dan always aims to give you a nose which fits your face and he always avoids the operated look.

Our personalised approach

Depending on why you have decided to see a nose surgeon on the Gold Coast, your cosmetic surgery will be unique to your case. As part of your consultation, Dr Robinson can discuss a range of techniques that may be applicable and suit your needs, including:

  • Straightening the structure.
  • Reducing the degree of nasal hump.
  • Creating a smaller shape.
  • Refining the tip.

Each nose is unique to the individual as is their surgical procedure, expectations and requirements. During your consultation your nose surgeon, Dr Robinson, will advise you about the most suitable rhinoplasty surgery.

Cosmetic Rhinoplasty

Both men and women can benefit from aesthetic improvements by undertaking cosmetic plastic surgery to adjust the structure of the nose. Cosmetic surgery is considered an elective surgery.

Functional Rhinoplasty

Functional nose jobs are a common very common for Dr Dan Robinson to perform. This form of surgery is reserved for those struggling to breathe properly due to trauma to the nose, deviated septum or other medical reasons. Functional plastic surgery is designed to help people with severely blocked nasal passages and can be used to help with other related issues.

This type of procedure can assist with:

  • Improving sleep.
  • Improved breathing.
  • Reduce snoring.
  • Age related nasal issues.

Women and men can achieve an easier breathing experience through a functional nose job. This procedure is considered a medical nose job and although still uses cosmetic elements, the reason behind the surgery is to help with health concerns.

Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty deals with improvements to previous rhinoplasty surgeries and is typically performed for functional reasons.
